4 Game Shows We Wish Our Kids Could Watch
Admit it or not, these game shows challenged us and we won’t mind having them back on TV for our kids to watch!
We all have our favorite game show as kids. In the late ’80s and ’90s, kid game shows were fun, exciting, and wanna make you participate. There are still a lot of game shows on TV but we wished these four shows were still around. Let’s look back at some of them and who knows, they might make a comeback.
Finders Keepers
Finders Keepers was a game show that aired in 1987 on Nickelodeon. Two teams are tasked to find an object in different parts of the house.
Teams are given 30 seconds each to find the object based on the clues given by the host.
Fun House
Fun House first aired in 1988 with two teams competing for the chance to raid the funhouse. They go through a series of games before doing the Grand Prix Race, which among the two teams – red or yellow will advance to the final round.
The team which will get the most number of tokens will advance to the final round to enter the house. At the house, each member of the team has the opportunity to grab three grand prize tags of their choice. One of the tags corresponds to the power prize and if the alarm sounds, it means they won the biggest prize of the show.
Double Dare
Double Dare was another game show first aired on Nickelodeon when we were kids. The show pitted two teams against each other for trivia and challenges. If the team is unable to answer or finish the challenge, the other team gets the corresponding money. The winning team moves to the obstacle course consisting of eight challenges where they try to get a flag that corresponds to a price.
The Crystal Maze
The Crystal Maze is a British TV game show that first aired in 1990 and had several returns when we were kids. The show brings six members and they compete as a team to get crystals. They go through four zones wherein they compete in four categories. These are:
- Skill
- Physical
- Mental
- Mystery
After completing all four zones, they head over to the Crystal Dome. Each crystal is equivalent to 5 seconds inside the dome. If they are unable to get out of the game in the zone they are in, they might buy the team member out or compete for more crystals.
Inside the Crystal Dome, they have to get as many gold leaves to get the ultimate prize of their choice.
Nostalgic game shows for us and our kids to watch
Watching these game shows brings us back to our youth. Hopefully, we will see more game shows that teach kids and not just for pure entertainment. After all, TV can be a helpful tool in learning.
