After the year we just had, it’s fair to say that we could all use a good vacation. I know I’m not alone in longing for some well deserved R&R, but considering the circumstances, let’s take it a step further. Round up your nearest and dearest, soldier through those swab tests, and pack a bag— we’re going on a family getaway to an Airbnb near Metro Manila. 

To simplify matters and keep risks at a minimum, we’ve picked destinations that are relatively easy to get to by car. To say that it’s located near a majestic waterfall should be enough to sell the place, but there’s more. Surrounded by the best that nature has to offer and amenities made for a childhood dream come true, this place is a stunner. 

A refreshing setting that really gives you a break from the city, this one-hectare farm is perfect for barbecues, and outdoor nature activities. They also offer Yoga classes and are close enough to the Daraitan River, Daranak falls, Tinipak River & Masungi Georeserve, if your group feels like venturing off.

This dreamy farmhouse with a view of pineapple fields in Tagaytay is a cozy (yet luxurious) home away from home. A popular venue for prenup shoots and weddings, it’s an easy pick for happy memories. 

The open space that surrounds the chalet gives it a serene and tranquil vibe. But not to get you too disconnected from the comfort of lounging in your home, you’ll find a Smart TV and WiFi hooked up for your convenience. 

4. Batalang Bato Beach Villa

Located in a marine sanctuary, completely secluded & serene, this villa is the perfect retreat for a healthy dose of sun, sea, and sand. Right on their beach front is a reef for snorkeling and diving, while sandy patches can be found several meters away from the shoreline.

A very popular Airbnb find, this picturesque abode is as cozy as it is dreamy. Not a stranger to destination lists, The Lake House at Caliraya offers everything you could possibly expect from a serene nature retreat. 

A wide decked veranda allows you to breathe in the freshest mountain air and the Pacific Ocean’s sea breeze. The abundance of lush greenery and access to the lake just footsteps away makes for a truly unfiltered experience. 

The whole family can enjoy a swim in the actual lake, or a dip in their private pool. They also have a bonfire pit, kayaks and paddle boards available for use, as well as other outdoor sports equipment. There’s no shortage of things to do here, but if rest and relaxation is your main goal, you can’t go wrong here.

If you ask me, a stay in the summer capital isn’t complete without a touch of history. This mid-century residence has the ideal retro feel amidst the pine trees and flower gardens, and really gives you an idea of what the city was like during its heyday. 

Located between the buzz of downtown and the calm of the quieter side of the city, it gives you the perfect balance to access everything Baguio has to offer. A fireplace completes the full mountain experience to help with extra cold nights. Staying true to it’s Cordillera roots, it has a charm that withstands the test of time, and provides a very homey and comfortable stay. 

8. Lorenzo Farm Natural and Organic

With a breathtaking view of Taal Lake and Mt. Maculot, you can take your family hiking while smelling the fresh air of the lake. But that’s not all you can do, you can go there for some fruit picking which you can enjoy for a snack after a long day of hiking. If you’re in the mood to dip your toes during the summer, the place even has an infinity pool which you can dive into and get some exercise in.

9. The Beach at Lobo

Where: Lobo, Batangas

Looking for a more tropical approach for an AirBnB? The huts and houses at Lobo, Batangas offer both a view of the beach and an enclosed private pool for you to enjoy. To top it off, the rooms are styled beach boho chic as a change of view since we’ve been doing nothing but staring at computer screens for work. And if you’re planning a really big boodle fight, there’s a grill there to cook all your favorite boodle meats!

10. Gabby’s Farm

Location: Cabuyao, Laguna

Finding one within the NCR bubble is good too if you don’t want too many documents. But if you want a more earthy getaway, Gabby’s Farm is the perfect place to go to experience a bit of the Tagaytay weather as the famous tourist spot is only 10 minutes away! The place spots a Bahay Kubo and gives magnificent nature-themed backdrops especially if you’re trying to boost up your social media photos. But if you’re not into the whole socmed thing, it’s perfect for some fresh air.
