Bonifacio Global City Implements Quiet Zone as a Reminder to Vehicle Owners

Bonifacio Global City, Taguig’s bustling central business district, has implemented a quiet zone to remind vehicle owners to respect those who live in the area.

Bonifacio Global City is known for being Taguig’s commercial hub thanks to the offices, malls, restaurants, and bars surrounding it. But with so many people trooping to BGC and hanging out in the area, some members of the community have been disturbed by the noise—especially in the late hours of the evening.

Last November 4, BGC’s community announced that they were implementing a quiet zone beginning 8 PM to 8 AM. The message is a reminder for those with vehicles that disrupt people resting.

“Rest and sleep are essential to every #BGCitizen. A gentle reminder to all vehicle owners, two or four-wheeled, to practice respect at all times,” members of the community announced on Facebook.

“BGC is home to about 20,000 families. We are a quiet zone from 8 PM to 8 AM daily.”

Marshals will be going around Bonifacio Global City to enforce the new rule. Signages will also be posted to remind those who live, visit, and work in the area.

Working Closely with the LGU

BGC is closely working with the City of Taguig and Barangay Fort Bonifacio. They’ll be discussing other ordinances to deal with the unnecessary noise in the area.

So, if you’re in Bonifacio Global City, make sure to respect people’s time. After all, there are many families with young kids who live in the area and need their rest.
