Disney+’s “Dug Days” Gives Carl From “Up!” Love This Valentine’s!

For those who have Disney+, Dug Days is going to be giving us a real treat for Valentine’s!

Often hailed to be a “love story better than Twilight” by the netizens, “Up!” has a short film based on its spin-off series Dug Days this coming February 10 on Disney Plus. We know that it’s hard to move on when a partner is gone, mourning and trying to live without them. However, Carl seems to try as he holds a bouquet in the trailer.

Dug Days reveals another adventure!

The film “Up!” had us in tears for a good eight minutes as Ellie and Carl spend their lives together in married bliss. Unfortunately, all good times come to an end when Ellie passes away. Carl becomes the grumpy old man we know before softening up to Russel and Dug. The latest short film tackles the life of an old widower: how does one move on or try to live life when their lifelong partner is gone?

It hurts to think that our life partner will have to go on without us, and vice versa. But sometimes, moving on is the best way to commemorate their memory by knowing that we wouldn’t do anything over. Something we know that the late Ellie would appreciate for Carl.

Carl will be voiced by the late Ed Asner, who sadly passed away in August 2021.

A story of a love that never fades.

As we grow old with our partners, this is the kind of thing we imagine for ourselves. It doesn’t always have to be a fantastic adventure. However, everything still is an adventure, even if it’s the most common of occurrences. Ellie inspired that love in Carl with her famous words, “Adventure is out there!” We all want to have that zest for life, all the way into our old age.

Disney+ announced that Dug Days: Carl’s Date will come out on February 10, 2023.

The series currently has five episodes; each showcasing Carl and his relationship with Russel and Dug.
