Erwan Heussaff Gets a James Beard Nomination!
Celebrity dad Erwan Heussaff earns a nomination from the James Beard Foundation under the social media category.
On Friday, April 28, the content creator, food entrepreneur, and father of one, Erwan Heussaff, received good news: he’s now a nominee for the James Beard Award under the Social Media Category. He shared the news on Instagram after receiving his nomination.
“Woke up to the exciting news yesterday and it just makes me more determined to keep going. To be recognized internationally by such an amazing platform is so motivating. It all started as a food blog to help people eat [healthily]. After 12 years, 3 studio builds, countless cooking videos, and short documentaries later, it finally feels like we are hitting our stride. Whether I make it or not, it doesn’t really matter!”
“With FEATR (@featrmedia) we are working towards building a proudly Filipino, digital video-focused, food media outlet. Showcasing stories and voices that need to be heard from our beautiful islands through TV-caliber content. I hope we can enter a bunch of our videos in next year’s awards.”
According to the announcement, the Social Media Category “recognizes excellence in a single food-related post, or compilation of up to three posts, that clearly represents the intention of the Facebook page, Twitter account, TikTok account, Instagram feed, or other social media format.”
Besides Erwan Heussaff, two other food content creators are joining him in the category.

Starting out as a content creator with his vlog, The Fat Kid Inside, Erwan Heussaff thanks all the support that the community has given him.
“I now always focus on the positive. A few articles came out about me this week and have brought out the ‘commentors.’ It’s still sad to see that people who made their assumptions about me a few years back, still can’t see our growth and the AMAZING work that the whole FEATR Media and The Fat Kid Inside Studios teams churn out. We are on track to document all Filipino heritage this year, incredible local products, and continue to shoot as many provinces as possible; giving light to the people who make all these places special and hopefully raising awareness and pride along the way. Yes, we still do branded work and that’s what helps fund everything else we do!”
What is the James Beard Award?
Named after the “Dean of American Cookery,” the James Beard Award comes from its namesake foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to celebrate, support, and elevate the people behind America’s food culture and champion a standard of good food anchored in talent, equity, and sustainability. The organization has recognized several chefs and restaurants through the years.
Fingers crossed, we hope Erwan’s name comes out among the winners this coming June!
