Guidelines for Enrollment: A Summary of DepEd Order 35, .2022
Here are the guidelines the DepEd released regarding enrollment for face-to-face classes for the upcoming school year.
With the school year seemingly off to a rocky start, DepEd Secretary and Vice President Sara Duterte issued a new order last July 23, 2022, regarding enrollment for face-to-face classes. Some parents may find themselves confused as to when classes are starting. Whereas, some are deciding whether or not they should be returning their kids to face-to-face classes. Here’s what we need to know about the new DepEd Order 35 2022 which will be applied to ALL Public Schools.
What We Need To Know About DepEd Order 35, .2022
- DepEd Order 35 currently reinforces the announcement of DepEd Order 34. The target date for enrollment is July 25, 2022 to August 22, 2022.
- Students can enroll in 3 different ways. One is going to the school itself. Another way is filling up the school’s online application. And finally, filling up the Enhanced Basic Education Enrollment Form (Enhanced BEEF) at home then placing it in a dropbox. The dropboxes will be available near the schools, in barangay halls, or any place where parents and guardians can get the Enhanced BEEF.
- Parents of incoming Kindergarten, Grade 7, and Grade 11 students will need to do both a physical enrollment and submit their Enhanced Basic Education Enrollment Form (Enhanced BEEF) to confirm their enrollment.
- Students may also submit the form themselves but it needs their parents’ signature.
- Incoming Grade 1 to 6, 8 to 10, and 12 students still need to submit their Enhanced Basic Education Enrollment Form (Enhanced BEEF) to update their details such as the Learner Reference Numbers (LRN) on the Learner Information System (LIS).
- Schools will be providing both an online and physical copy of the Enhanced Basic Education Enrollment Form (Enhanced BEEF).
- All required documents must be submitted by October 31, 2022.
- Schools will be the ones to transmit official school records. Not the parents.
Enhanced guidelines may also affect private schools
Although DepEd Order 35, .2022 may affect public schools more, some private schools may adopt some of the rules in the guidelines. It’s best to contact the school that we’re planning to put our kids in. But some—be it us or our kids—may not be comfortable with the return of classes. Best to sit down as a family and discuss what’s the most ideal scenario for everyone.
