Janella Salvador Says She’s A Single Mom
During an interview with Bernadette Sembrano, the Darna actress recently shared her battles in life including being a single mom.
Actress Janella Salvador seems to have confirmed the status of her relationship with Markus Paterson. In an interview with ABS-CBN broadcaster Bernadette Sembrano on her vlog last September 3, Janella, who plays Regina/Valentina on Darna, said that she’s a single mom.
Janella Salvador: “Alam ko naman kaya ko siya.”
During the interview, Janella revealed how she can relate to her role as Regina.
“Relate ako kasi si Regina ‘pag meron siyang ipinaglalaban, as long as alam niyang nasa tama siya ilalaban niya talaga. Gano’n ako as a person as long as wala akong natatapakan. Kasi I like learning. I like challenging myself,” she said.
When asked what was the latest challenge she fought for, Janella Salvador mentioned being a mother to her son Jude.
“Being a single mom – talagang nilaban ko ‘yon,” she admitted. “At the end of the day, alam ko kaya ko naman siya. As much as I love the people around me who are always there to help me, I always want to know na kaya kong gawin.”
“I can rely on myself na hindi ko kailangang humingi ng tulong sa iba,” she added.
Strong and independent woman
In the same vlog, Janella said her mom, actress Jenine Desiderio, inspires her. Jenine is also a single parent herself. “She was able to raise us on her own. Kaya siguro na embody ko din paano siya. I want to be independent as well.”
When asked to describe herself, she mentioned the word strong. “I always heard that I am the bravest person that they know.”
Known for having a sweet image in showbiz, Janella Salvador said that like everyone, she constantly evolves. “I started maturing and everything just fell into place. And I went through so much to get to where I am right now.”
“Now that I am a mom, I have more confidence. Before kasi I would overthink and get anxious over what people are thinking about me. But now, after giving birth, I don’t care as long as I am doing this for Jude, I am doing this for me. I am doing what I love to do.”
Separated from Markus?
Back in August after the Darna press conference, Janella was asked whether she and Markus parted ways. While she did not confirm nor deny the split, she said they were both happy as individuals and that Jude remains their priority.
Janella and Markus welcomed Jude back in October 2020. However, they only introduced him to the public in January 2021. After returning from the UK, both started getting themselves ready for several projects that they have been offered.
Moreover, Janella has since been announced as Valentina/Regina in Darna opposite Jane de Leon.
