Lessons From My Father According to Miss World Philippines 2022 Candidates

Five of the Miss World Philippines 2022 candidates share lessons their dads have imparted to them in their life journeys.

Life as a beauty queen aspirant can be tough. But the Miss World Philippines 2022 candidates have been grateful that they have the support of family and friends. Their fathers have also given them guidance in their respective life journeys crown or no crown.

As we pay tribute to the special man in our lives this June aka our fathers, we asked five of the candidates about the lessons they’ve learned from their dads in their respective life journeys.

“He told me to not take myself so seriously, not to work so hard. And not to say that he’s telling me to be lazy. But he already knows that I am already a very hard worker. My work ethic and my discipline have been with me since I was dancing. So he knows how hard it is when I take myself too seriously.”

“My father has always taught me to live within the framework of humility. We all have different challenges that we come across in our lives. But when you have humility in your heart, you’ll be able to really foster into the young lady that you are. Being humble will bring you to more places.”

“My dad is a man of few words. But the one thing that he really has taught me is to be able to handle things no matter how difficult or no matter how easy it gets. Because as a family, we have gone through so many things in life. We experienced a financial crisis, we experienced an upscale lifestyle, and we also experienced having nothing. Having to experience both worlds really made me more humble as a person that whatever I go through or whether things don’t go my way, I will also be able to handle it and carry it because I know what it felt like in the past. “

“The biggest lesson my dad taught me in life was the two pillars of love and common sense. And it just really signifies the importance of balance in life. If you lead with your heart and your head never one without the other. And I think this has really made me into the academic but also the empathetic person that I am.”

“My dad really shaped my definition of success. Because growing up, I saw how he wasn’t money motivated. He was family motivated and he was always a sucker for doing what is right and not what is easy. And that really inspired me in my path today in making sure that I know what my priorities are and I know that success makes fulfillment and not money or fame.”
