Mother of Texas School Shooting Gunman: “Forgive Me, Forgive My Son”

The mother of the gunman had no words and could do nothing but beg those who lost their children to forgive her and her son.

As the dust settles on what was considered the second deadliest school shooting in US history, the mother of Texas Shooting Gunman, Adrianna Martinez Ramos, is forced to accept the atrocity her son has committed. With 19 children and 2 teachers dead, Adriana Ramos asked the parents and the many people aware of the Robb Elementary School Shooting to “forgive her, and her son”.

Adriana Ramos: “I have no words.”

When interviewed by CNN, Adriana Martinez Ramos found herself speechless from the act of violence from her son. She tearfully shares in Spanish, “I didn’t know what he was thinking. He had his reasons for doing what he did. I only want the innocent children who died to forgive me.”

Unfortunately, there’s the next million-dollar question: what does the mother of a gunman say to the parents of the kids he’s killed?

Adriana Ramos begged for forgiveness in Spanish from the dead’s parents. “Forgive me, forgive my son. To get close to those kids, or to run away from all the bad things happening to him, I have no words. I really don’t know what his reasons are.”

Facing the “Monster” in her Child

Today, Adriana regrets not recognizing the signs either that there was something there.

“I had an uneasy feeling sometimes. Like, ‘What are you up to?'” she shares during an interview. “He can be aggressive if he really got mad. But my son is not a monster…”

What Adriana Ramos faces today as a mother is possibly one of the most horrifying things any parent wishes that they don’t have to go through. There’s accepting that their children are capable of such atrocities. Then, there’s knowing there was something there but being uncertain on how to address it. Violence is never the answer but this is a wake-up call to many. Instances of violence do not grow in a short period of time. Like goodness, it is nurtured and fed.
