The Power Rangers Cast are Back for the 30th Anniversary Film
Original Power Ranger cast members David Yost and Walter Jones lead the 30th-anniversary movie airing on Netflix this April!
It’s not a drill! Several cast members from the Power Rangers reunited to shoot a movie that will be streamed on Netflix. In a clip posted on its social media accounts, David Yost and Walter Jones, who were part of the original cast when the show aired in the 90s, were shown with co-stars Steve Cardenas, Johnny Yong Bosh, Karan Ashley, and Catherine Sutherland.
Surreal for the cast
David, who stars as Billy and is the longest member of the cast, said: “It ‘s kind of crazy to think that it’s been many years.”
Steve, who plays Rocky, added: “It’s surreal. And it’s been a great experience.”
Catherine described the feeling as nostalgic, while Karan, on the other hand, said that they would give the fans something they wished for: seeing them back on screen.
Although some of them worked for the first time together, Walter said they were a family. “We are a family of Rangers. So to finally be on the set with them is really interesting.”
A full synopsis of the film has yet to be announced but EW reported that the Rangers were summoned again due to a threat they are familiar with.
The Power Rangers was a top show of the 90s
The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers show was one of the most popular shows in the 90s that catapulted David Yost, Walter Jones, and original cast members Austin St. John, Thuy Trang, and Amy Jo Johnson into the spotlight. Jason David Frank would later join the cast.
After the departure of Austin, Walter, and Thuy, Karan Ashley, Johnny Yong Bosch, and Steve Cardenas came in and starred in the first Power Rangers movie. Catherine Sutherland later replaced Amy Jo who left the show for other opportunities.
Thuy Trang died in 2007 at the age of 27 due to a car accident. Meanwhile, Jason David Frank died last November 2022.
The Power Rangers movie streams on Netflix on April 19.
