Billy tries to keep his team and siblings together

When Billy is Shazam, he is regarded as the leader of the group despite being cocky at times. When he’s in child form, it’s the same situation despite his brother and best friend Freddy Freedman attention sided by his affection for Anthea, who they later discover is a daughter of Atlas.

Shazam may often find it difficult for his other teammates to listen to him but there is no doubt that he’s one of the reasons why they stick together.

The power struggle among women

Self-interest and revenge can be dangerous and this is the issue among the daughters of Atlas – Hespera (Helen Mirren), Kalypso (Lucy Liu), and Anthea (Rachel Zeigler). Originally stealing the staff for revenge for the death of their father, Kalypso finds herself going against her sisters in her quest to avenge their father by killing mankind. This intention leaves Hespera and Anthea to join forces with Shazam and his team to stop their sister from doing any more damage.

The story of the sisters just shows that it’s very common to fight among siblings but also make the choice which can either turn out good or turn out bad.

One can make the ultimate sacrifice

To stop Kalypso, Shazam makes a plea to Hespera for help. Realizing he must risk his life, Shazam does so and eventually defeats Kalypso leaving his family in grief.

But his sacrifice is not in vain as one god returns to help and reminds him to use the powers of Zeus wisely.

Family is always forever

Billy has always set himself as the outcast among his foster siblings. But as his foster mom Rosa assured him, he is and always be her son even if he did not come from her physically.

While we often tend to have grudges toward family members, it’s a good reminder that in your ups and in your downs, they will be there for you when you celebrate or grieve.
