Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth Mutually Divorce

Not all divorces have to be messy, and Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are prime examples of that.

Divorce proceedings usually have a lot of mudslinging, slandering, and court battles. But there are many other couples who settle things amicably. Especially when there are kids, divorce is a difficult decision to process and deal with, which Reese Witherspoon and her soon-to-be ex-husband Jim Toth acknowledge. “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

The two have been married for 12 years and have a son together, 10-year-old Tennessee James.

Our idea of divorce is quite dramatic

When a couple divorces or separates, it’s no surprise that the marites culture in the Philippines spawns all sorts of stories. From third parties to someone making a bad financial decision, all these add an extra amount of pressure—especially when there’s no one to confirm whether it’s true or not. When Reese Witherspoon posted the announcement on her Instagram, she added how both she and Jim appreciated everyone’s respect for privacy.

“These matters are never easy and are extremely personal,” she writes.

When it’s mutual, it means being able to deal with the hard feelings together

Divorce will always create some hard feelings and it’s up to the couple to confront those. There’s no fancy way around it, especially since many of those feelings are still under the proverbial rug. Dusting out and cleaning it up with a safe environment with no one else to judge or distort things is the most ideal. And most of all, with this kind of issue, the priority should always be the children.

“Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this new chapter in our lives,” Reese Witherspoon states.
