The Disney Expo 2022 recently happened in Anaheim, California and there’s a lot to look forward to. Here are just some of them!
The Disney Expo 2022 (or D23) kicked off last September 9 and there’s a lot to look forward to from the announcements that were made during the 3-day event. From new projects to scheduled theater releases and streamings on Disney+, here’s a wrap of this year’s Disney Expo.
Hocus Pocus 2
Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are back as the Sanderson Sisters in Hocus Pocus 2, which will be streamed on Disney+ this Halloween.
The Little Mermaid
A teaser trailer for the live-action of the Little Mermaid featuring Halle Bailey was shown during the expo. The live-action, which also includes Javier Bardem and Melissa McCarthy, will premiere on May 26, 2023, in cinemas.
Disenchanted
Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey are back as Giselle and Robert. They try to start a new life as a family. Disillusioned with what’s happening to her, Giselle transforms the town they live in into a fairytale which puts her family in jeopardy. The movie premieres in November on Disney+.
Elemental
Disney and Pixar announced it was working on a new movie called Elemental which will open on June 16, 2023.
Peter Pan and Wendy
A poster was unveiled for the film which will stream in 2023 on Disney+.
Mufasa: The Lion King
A new movie from The Lion King is coming this 2024 based on the story of Mufasa, Simba’s father.
Snow White
West Side Story star Rachel Zegler and Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot bring to life the fairytale this 2024.

Also announced were Marvel’s projects such as Daredevil, Fantastic Four, Werewolf by Night, Armor Wars, and Thunderbolts. An art concept for the new Avatar movie was announced, too.
