Sandra Lemonon and Sol Mercado Are Engaged, Expecting First Child Together
Former beauty queen contestant Sandra Lemonon and basketball star Sol Mercado announced their engagement and pregnancy on Instagram
Former beauty queen contestant and model Sandra Lemonon is engaged to basketball player Sol Mercado. The couple announced the engagement Sunday, March 13.
“With you @m3rcmywords I love you,” Sandra captioned the photo confirming the engagement on March 3 at 5 pm.
Sol posted the same photo and wrote: “everything that is YOU @sandralemonon, is all I ever needed!”
But the couple has another announcement. On Monday, March 14, the couple surprised their followers when they also confirmed they were expecting their first child, a boy together.
“Creating life together. We love you Papi,” Sandra said as she showed her baby bump after the proposal.
Sol also posted snippets of the gender reveal and proposal with the caption: “Loading… #KingZ#BoyDad#MySon”
Who are Sandra Lemonon and Sol Mercado?
Sandra Lemonon rose to fame as a contestant in several pageants. She first competed in Miss World Philippines in 2016 and placed 4th runner-up.
In 2018, Sandra tried her luck in Binibining Pilipinas and became a topic of pageant fans after she admitted she was not aware of the “Build, Build, Build” project which was the question given to her.
In 2020, she tried her luck in Miss Universe Philippines, representing Taguig, and became a semifinalist. She also ignited controversy after she insinuated some alleged irregularities over the results of the pageant.
Sandra has since retired from pageantry.
Sol Mercado on the other hand is a basketball player who plays for the PBA. He was previously engaged to actress Denise Laurel but they have called off the wedding since.
Denise and Sol share a son, Davian Alejandro.
Sandra and Sol confirmed their relationship last year.
