Divorce is usually a messy affair but after 25 years of marriage, Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin prove that it can be settled amicably. However, the two have made it clear that the divorce will not change their relationship with their daughters. “I’m sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage I have filed for divorce from my husband Sylvester Stallone. While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than the 30-year relationship we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters,” Jennifer Flavin shared in an exclusive interview with the People.

Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin currently share three daughters: Scarlet (20 years old), Sistine (24 years old), and Sophia (25 years old).

Was a fur baby the reason for Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin’s divorce?

Rumors circulated that their marriage ended over how to care for Sylvester Stallone’s dog, a Rottweiler named Dwight. However, the veteran action star denies this. “We just went in different directions. I have the highest respect for Jennifer. I will always love her. She’s an amazing woman. She’s the nicest human being I’ve ever met.”

While there are reports that Flavin is filing due to “mishandling of marital assets”, others have speculated that Stallone’s adoption of Dwight was the proverbial pebble that triggered the avalanche. But the two have both reported that they were handling these issues privately and amicably.

Divorce will always be messy but the mess can be contained.

The word “divorce” will always leave a bad taste in the mouth especially if it’s due to a third party. But there are ways to settle things amicably even if what triggered the divorce was a dealbreaker. The most important part about mitigating the mess of a divorce is to make sure the kids come out unscathed. Also, it helps both parties to settle a co-parenting plan. Something that Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin seem to be doing at the moment.
