Things To Do This Weekend With Kids in Manila: Level Up Your Weekend Plans

All the fam-tastic things to do with kids in Manila this weekend

If you aren’t traveling with the kids and just staying put in Metro Manila, no worries! We’ve got a lot of fun activities fit for the whole family, right here in town. And yes, we’ll be updating this every week, so you won’t ever run out of things to do. You’re welcome.

PSA: Don’t forget to bring the umbrellas this weekend! It’s going to be a wet one.. As of 23 July, the IATF has halted Resolution 125: kids are not allowed out due to the Delta variant. However, some LGUs may have different rules. We recommend checking ahead to play safe!

1. Watch the Olympics

Instill some #PinoyPride in your kids and have them watch the Olympics. With Hidilyn Diaz bagging our first-ever gold medal in the Olympics, it’s definitely something to help them cope with the weight of the pandemic. Watching athletes, hearing their stories, is a wholesome family activity that shares lessons on resilience and smart, hard work.

2. Draw your very own Tumindig icon

The viral Tumindig icon rocked waves in social media as the Filipinos call for a better Philippines. Artist Kevin Eric Raymundo released a blank template on his Twitter for anyone to create their own Tumindig. For kids who want to speak up or for those who wish to learn more art, they can start out with this icon to get the ball rolling. If they like doing art, you can even enroll them in art classes!

3. Learn simple recipes at home

To make sure your kids don’t burn down the house in an attempt to feed themselves, why not teach them a few recipes? It can range from making no-bake cheesecakes or even flipping a cheese omelette in a pan. And considering how long they’ve been stuck in the house, they might be in the mood for some pasta too.

4. AirBnB Staycation

Although kids aren’t allowed to go out, that doesn’t mean we can’t bring them along for an AirBnB staycation. Keep the trip P2P (Point-to-Point) for the kids but go all out in the AirBnb. There are some AirBnBs that are just loaded with activities. We have a list of some of them right here.

5. Head over to Okada for a staycation

Who doesn’t love a staycation? Okada Manila hotel rooms offer stunning views of Manila Bay, so even if the kids are napping, you’ll get to enjoy it still. The property is massive and although all the kid-friendly attractions are still closed (except for its luxurious pool), kids will enjoy walking around, discovering every nook and cranny of the space. We suggest booking a signature suite to make the most of your stay — the rooms come with private jet tubs!
Where: New Seaside Drive, Entertainment City, Paranaque

6. Learn some new dance moves!

With BTS releasing Permission to Dance, it’s the perfect time for you and your kids to learn some dance moves. Being stuck in the house means less physical activity (unless chores are considered). So, getting that blood pumping and those limbs moving with BTS is a perfect way to spend the rainy weekend.

7. Play in the rain

Make like a duck this rainy weekend and take the kids for a splashing fun time at your nearest park! Slip on some rubber boots for added effect, a raincoat and an umbrella. It’s time to bring back all those fun times we had as kids, playing in the rain without a care in the world.

8. Watch a wholesome TV show marathon on Netflix

If the rain isn’t letting up, cozy up with the family and have a family movie marathon. Turn up the AC, grab a blanket and check these awesome wholesome TV shows out! Who needs blood and gore when you’ve got good lessons and good vibes to look forward to?

9. Rent an inflatable

Don’t feel like heading out? Turn your backyard or garage into the playground of your kids’ dreams with an inflatable. Luckily for you, we’ve rounded up some of the best places to rent inflatables for the whole family.

Need more activity inspo? We have 35 screen-free activities to keep the kids busy, plus cool craft ideas and easy recipes to whip up with kids. Now thats your weekend sorted!
