Here’s What We Know About The Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon Love Story
(UPDATED) McCoy de Leon confirmed that he and Elisse Joson are back together.
On January 4, Former Pinoy Big Brother contestant and Hashtag member McCoy de Leon trended on social media after a picture of him with a non-showbiz woman went viral. These screenshots and photos led many people to accuse the Deleter star of cheating on his partner Elisse Joson whom he shares a daughter, Felize. McCoy would later post a picture of him with his daughter. Initially, he wrote a long post but later changed the caption to, “Lagi mong tatandaan na mahal na mahal kita.”
After posting the photo, McCoy de Leon confirmed through a statement that he and Elisse Joson broke up. Leading us to ask the question: what went wrong?
Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 – 2016
Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon first met during their stint in Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7. The two eventually developed feelings for each other. After their time in PBB, they were launched in several shows as a tandem known as McLisse by ABS-CBN.
Some of the shows the two did together include FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and The Good Son in 2017.
McCoy admits to courting Elisse – 2016
During an interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda, McCoy confirmed that he was courting Elisse at that time. The onscreen pair became a real-life couple as they worked on several projects after.
The first breakup – 2018
In 2018, the couple hit a rough patch. However, Elisse said in an interview that they were trying to work things out.
In August 2018, Elisse said that McCoy unfollowed her. In October of the same year, they confirmed they broke up.
Promoting a movie – 2019
In 2019, the two reunited to promote their movie Sakaling Maging Tayo. A promotional video was released where the two spoke about what they missed with each other when they were still together.
Getting back together – August 2020
Fans in August started speculating McCoy and Elisse got back together when McCoy shared a photo of them together on a romantic cruise. McCoy captioned: “Always all way.”
Confirming they are together once again – June 2021
McCoy confirmed in 2021 that he and Elisse did get back together again after celebrating her birthday. At that time, he and Elisse just wanted to have a low-key relationship and fixed what needed to be fixed.
The two also celebrated their anniversary a month after.
Introducing Felize – October 2021
In an appearance on Pinoy Big Brother: Komunity Season 10, McCoy and Elisse dropped a surprise for many. They formally introduced their daughter Felize to the public. They even asked Kuya to be a godparent to their daughter.
Following Felize’s introduction, Elisse wrote of her daughter: “Life was uncertain before you came. I didn’t know which path to take, the choices to make. I didn’t know what to be, what I want to be. Now, nothing is clearer to me than to be the best me, to be the best mommy, for you.”
McCoy on the other hand wrote: “Binigay ka ng Diyos hindi lang isang regalo, binigay ka rin niya dahil binigyan mo kami ng pag asa ng nanay mo. Nagtuloy tuloy ang pagsasamahan namin dahil sayo, kasi alam naming ikaw ang magiging dahilan kaya kami nabubuhay sa mundong ito,” he wrote.
(God gave you not only as a gift but also as a source of hope for me and your mom. Our relationship became stronger because of you because we know you will be the reason why we are here in this world.)
All seem well – 2022
The couple seemed to have a good 2022, sharing pictures and milestones such as Felize’s birthday and McCoy’s birthday.
McCoy de Leon confirms breakup – January 2023
Amidst allegations he cheated on Elisse, McCoy de Leon first shared a photo of him and Felize. But on the evening of January 4, he confirmed that he and Elisse broke up again.
“Wala pong [involved] na ibang tao [sa] pinaka rason kaya kami naghiwalay. Sana po maniwala po kayo,” he wrote via Instagram stories.
“Hindi ko po intensyon [na] manakit ng tao o manloko. Sadyang dumating lang po sa point na sobrang bigat lang ng problema kaya po ako sumuko.” McCoy did not go into details of the reason behind the breakup.
Elisse has yet to issue a statement about the breakup. She is currently vacationing with her family abroad.
Spotted together at a restaurant – January 2023
Weeks after confirming their separation, McCoy was spotted with Elisse at a restaurant fueling reports they’ve gotten back together.
McCoy de Leon confirms he and Elisse are together again – February 2023
During an interview with TV5’s MJ Marfori, McCoy confirmed that he and Elisse are okay again. However, he opted not to share the reason behind the brief separation.
“Siguro hindi ko na [i-specify yung naging dahilan], basta iyon na ‘yung mabibigay ko muna. Kumbaga, masaya kami kung ano ang estado namin ngayon.
