Vilma Santos to Return Onscreen After 6 Years

Former Batangas representative and soon-to-be grandmother Vilma Santos is set to return to acting 6 years since her last project.

Fans of Vilma Santos are in for a treat! Six years after the last project she made, the Star for All Seasons is gearing up for possible movie projects as shared by the former Batangas representative on her Instagram on Thursday, September 7.

The photo showed Vilma alongside movie producers Dondon Monteverde and Erik Matti, who might direct the film.

“Had a lunch meeting with Direk @erikmatti and @dondonmonteverde. EXCITING!!!” she captioned the photo.

Erik also shared a photo of him and Vilma from the meeting and is excited for the projects to push through.

“I’ve worked with @rosavilmasantosrecto in a few commercials but I’ve always wished to do a movie with the Philippine film industry’s most iconic star for all seasons,” he said. “We will be developing two projects with her and after hearing the stories, Ate Vi gave it a nod. A very happy, excited nod. So excited!!! Woooottt!!!”

Excited to return to film

Since stepping down from her political career, Vilma said in various interviews that she is excited to act again and has been talking to various producers. While no project has yet been formally announced, the actress is currently preparing herself for the arrival of her granddaughter with Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola.

Vilma recently shared an interview with the two about her excitement as a lola-to-be on her YouTube channel and there were a lot of things she’s looking forward to once her granddaughter comes out.
