Yanee Nuñez Alvarez: An Abundance of Blessings with Another On the Way

As a mother, girl boss, and jet-setter, Yanee Nuñez Alvarez proves that it’s possible to balance her different roles.

Yanee Nuñez Alvarez

There’s no denying that Yanee Nuñez Alvarez is on top of the world. As the corporate secretary of Forthinker Inc. while being heavily immersed in the food industry as a chef and business owner, she cruises through her different ventures and manages to have a work-life balance. Her Instagram feed shows a glimpse of her as a mother, girl boss, and jet-setter. Just recently, she came from a trip to Europe with the whole family where she announced exciting news.

With a hectic schedule, she shares that time management plays an important factor in keeping things together. “So many things happen randomly when you have three young kids. I make my ‘to-do list’ at the start of the week. That includes setting the week’s menu, grocery run, kids’ schedule — both school-related and extracurricular activities — and more. But I consider myself very lucky to have a husband who is as hands-on as myself when it comes to our children. And we are blessed to have household staff who have been with us through the years. With that, all things come manageable.”

Yanee opens up that she was raised by a single mom. “She never had someone to balance her parenting style. She was the pillar of our strength. So emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially, my brothers and I relied solely on her.”

Of all the lessons Yanee has learned from her mother Marilen, the most important ones that she wishes to impart to her own children are respect, hard work, and perseverance.

“Never allow any roadblock to keep you from moving forward. Stay positive. And be prayerful. My mom’s faith is so strong that I work on applying it to my life.”

Another Blessing on the Way

It’s evident how much Yanee adores her children. Aliyana, her eldest, is very outspoken and loves to dance and sing. Her unico hijo, Joaquin, is an observant gentle giant who is fond of sharks and dinosaurs. Meanwhile, her youngest at the moment is Adriana, who the family calls Miss Congeniality because of the way she easily adjusts around people regardless of age.

Another blessing is on the way as Yanee found out in the middle of their vacation in Europe that she’s expecting. “Initially, there was resistance [from the three] because they are scared of me getting pregnant and them having another sibling. But soon after, they got ecstatic. To this day, they always kiss my belly and pray for me and the baby.”

Compared to her first three pregnancies, Yanee gets a little more tired now. “I guess it comes with age,” she says with a wink. “That is why I am being extra careful and I listen to my body more now than when I had my three. Emotionally, I am very well prepared because I share the same feelings as my husband — which is very important. We are very well prepared and excited to welcome our baby number four.”

Creating a Safe and Loving Space at Home

Yanee Nuñez Alvarez is constantly grateful for the abundance of blessings in her life. And it’s also because of this that she and her husband instill empathy, respect, and honesty in their children. “Constant communication is key. And we remind them that home is always the heart and safe place for them. We also exchange ‘I Love You’s’ to assure them they are loved and appreciated.”

In addition, she shares some of her secrets to success. “Hard work and loving your work. Never begrudge anyone so as not to burden yourself with hatred. Always be grateful and grounded. Stay modest.”

When it comes to parenting, she advises, “Create a solid team with you, parents, as team leaders.
Overflow with love. And lastly, pray together and be grateful — even for the simplest of things.”
